Shadow Wood Forest

The mainland of Wolfs Night territory.The forest is vastly dense and dark.Very little light shines through the tree tops.Only the brave and courageous venture there.Any wolf who strays there could either find himself lost forever in the night or he may be encountered by the wolves who live there.Stranger aren't taken too lightly on first meet.The pack is made around this land.It's tough but the wolves know the land well.

Shade wandered aimlessly through the forest, ocasionally stopping to look at this or that. Tipping her head, she raised her muzzle in the air and let out a pircing howl, the melody drifting across the forest.

Kamaji flicked his ears at an unfamiliar howl at a distance.He snorted.Some one dares enter his territory without permission.He raised his own muzzle and let a howl of his own.The note echoed over miles of the wood and it was territorial.At the end of his note he walked on though the dense wood as he picked up the sent and began to follow it.

Shade sighed in satisfaction. An answer. At least her day wont be boring. She started trotting towards the sound, giving little howls of pleasure, hoping it was anoying the wolf who responded.

Kamaji came to a clearing.He was clearly getting a headache from all the howling but the scent of the new wolf was becoming clearer to him now.He waited patiently.He gave another territorial howl as he waited.

Shade confidently steped into the clearing. " You get a headache yet?", she said with a grin. She could see that the large male was agitated, most likly from a headache.

Kamaji stood to his full height his tail up ears erect and fur bristling."Your trespassing on claimed lands female."He growled.

She grinned. " Ooh, now your getting teritorial", she teased. " I'm fully aware im in your territory, i can smell when i crossed your scent lines." She sat down to show she wasn't scared by the display of authority.

Kamaji bared his fangs showing that he was boss around here even if the female knew where she was.He snarled."Why are you here?"

"Ooh, touchy touchy. I'm just wandering territory's looking for a pack that would take me in." Shade smiled widely at the male, seeing that he was trying to intimidate her by baring his fangs.

Kamaji lowered slowly onto his haunches.'Perhaps a female would be good to have around'He thought.After all he was looking for new pack members no matter how annoying they were.He sighed."Whats your name?"

"Shade", she replied happily. "And yours?" She tipped her head and studied the male.

"Kamaji."The Dominant answered."Pleasure to meet you Shade."Kamaji could already feel himself relaxing."How did you come to this place?"He asked after a moment of silence.He took note that Shade was observing him.

Shade gave the male a lazy smile. "Hmm, well i just wander from place to place looking for a pack who will accept me, and now I'm here!" Shade yawned and flicked her ears.

Kamaji took a deep breath before letting it out slowly as he arose to his feet and shook his ruff.He approached Shade in a casual manner pausing just in front of her."You may have a look around."He told her."I think it best to watch your step in these parts however.This place is uncertainly predictable and it's dark."He shook his black ruff again before walking past the female and down a small trail.

'Another pack gone, who knows how many left to go...' she thought, discouraged. She really thought this one might be different. Oh well, at least he hadn't chased me out of his territory. Slowly, she stood, shaked herself and padded away.

Kamaji suddenly paused a thought twisting in his head.This female was strong.She seemed almost like she could fit as a leader.Kamaji shook his head,he wasn't ready for that yet.But he was ready for a second in command.He looked over his shoulder just seeing her leave."Wait"He called."I could use a second in command."Kamaji wasn't one to go back on his word so he kept his decision final.

Shade stopped and turned around." Do you really want me in your pack? Aren't you even wondering why i haven't found a pack yet?" Shade took a few steps closer and said" i would love to be your second in command though...". She regarded Kamaji thoughtfully.

Kamaji nodded though that one line caught his attention."What do you mean why you haven't found a pack?"His tone had softened.

" I told you i was looking for a pack... well i have been to many packs, but I'm... different. That's what they call me... I'm not sure if you want me in your pack" Shade said, knowing she probably just blew her chances of joining.

Shade closed her eyes and sighed. "Its because i was raised by a dog, not a wolf, and because no one expects a lone fae who is normal." She looked up at Kamaji. "You don't want me in the pack anymore do you..."

"I never go back on my word."Kamaji said in a serious tone."This pack is open to all who I think deserves to live someplace good and for the better."Kamaji nodded at his own words."You will stay here with me."

Shade blinked thankfully. "Thank you", she said. "Where's the den site?"
